Is My Immune System Ready for the Holiday Season?

I am just getting over my second virus since getting back from Norway in mid-September. Maybe this doesn't seem like a big deal, but until this past month or so--I hadn't been sick at all in almost two years! To me, having my immune system "compromised" as we are heading into the "trenches" time of the year for this single parent is a very big deal! I'm wondering if my aging parental immune system is ready for another active and intense holiday season?
It used to be that I worried about my children--when they were younger, it seemed that the week after Halloween until the second week in January was prime illness time. I used to make a "group" doctor's appointment right before we left town for any holiday visiting trips because I just knew someone would come down with something major and I'd rather have a good supply of that bubble gum pink antibiotic they used to take before I set foot on a plane or buckled up the first seatbelt. This year, however, it is my own health I'm a little wary about. Am I going to hold up for cooking the Thanksgiving feast, decorating the house, and starting in earnest on the holiday festivities in the next few days? Or am I going to end up back upstairs in bed with the sniffles and such?
Lots of orange juice, chicken soup, and other herbal and homeopathic remedies are in order--I'm stocking up on the tea and lemon and honey and all those other things that can boost my system as well as my spirits. I only hope this doesn't cut into my fudge-eating and cookie-baking as I can tolerate a lot of flexibility and ambiguity during a typical holiday season--but I'm not sure I could tolerate that!
