Botox Daughter Removed from Home by Social Services

So the other day I blogged about kids getting Botox and I mentioned the interview done with a mom who has been giving her 8-year-old daughter Botox injections. Since then, the child has been taken away by Social Services. Apparently complaints began pouring in, which resulted in an investigation and then a determination that the child should be removed from the home. Now I have a few thoughts on this. First, why would any mother take the chance and put herself out there in the public eye to brag about the act of giving her daughter Botox? You would certainly … Continue reading

Kids Getting Botox

Very disturbing…images of an 8-year-old girl on “Good Morning America” receiving Botox. And guess who was injecting it into her? Her own mother. During the interview the little girl said they hurt but she gets used to them and when the interviewer asked why she receives them, she tilted her head to the side and said, “I don’t know.” But then her mother whispers something to her and she says, “Oh yeah…” as if to be reminded of why she receives them. That image continues to flash through my mind and it is very unsettling. I thought it was bad … Continue reading

“American Idol” News: Kids Nearly Drown While Mom Watches Show and Simon the Metrosexual

Avid fan or not most people know that “American Idol” is a cult phenomenon. Unfortunately, the addiction one die-hard fan has to the singing contest nearly cost her daughter her life. According to a police report, the “Idol” fan placed her 3-year-old and 1-year-old in the tub and went to … Continue reading

Daycare More Expensive Than College?

I heard something pretty shocking the other day on the radio. The DJ was talking about how the price of daycare for an infant is now more expensive than a year’s tuition in a public college (such as a technical school). On average, parents can expect to shell out $18,000 a year in order to have their baby cared for on a full-time basis. I guess that makes me feel somewhat better since college is just around the corner for my oldest son. He will be attending a technical school that offers an aviation program. I know they say you … Continue reading

Some foods help you prevent and treat common, and serious, diseases! You can eat yourself healthy, literally, without running to a health food store and buying expensive supplements you can actually create a difference for your health by making small dietary adjustments. Tip: help your kids get used to eating these “good for you” foods by incorporating them into their snacks and meals from an early age Go Green: Most dark green vegetables help ward off dieases like cancer and heart diseases and slow the aging process (who needs botox if you’ve got romaine lettuce?!). The darker your greens the … Continue reading
