I was always one of those parents who had a bag full of “nevers.”  You know what I mean.  “I will never allow my child to…”  Fill in the blank. Beware of KIK Messenger

As the parent of three teens, I try to keep up with the latest trends. But they are developing at breakneck speeds that I sometimes miss out. Take the latest one, KIK messenger, a way to send text messages that a parent might not know about. In fact, it was only because a friend of mine discovered it on her teen’s electronic devices that I did some investigating and found my two youngest were using it. Most Teens Hide What They Do Online

A few months ago I attended a parenting class at my church. One of the dads was expressing how it is our job to monitor our teen’s use of technology. Of course that makes sense, right? But as I pointed out, it isn’t always so easy. Let’s face it…teens usually know more about technology than we do. That means they can get around things.
