Here is one holiday that we won’t be celebrating in our home. Apparently, today is a day that many people the world over are celebrating the recreational use of pot, sharing recipes and techniques in person and through the Internet. How do I know this? Parents Help Cause Child Depression

In today’s society child depression rates are higher than ever before with one in eight adolescents suffering from depression. Suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death among teens and the 6th among children. And recent research suggests that children from more affluent homes are three times more likely to be depressed than their poorer peers. One of the things that are pushing children and teens towards depression is their parents. Causes of Child Depression

More and more children are being treated for depression. Teen Depression.org states that as many as one in every 33 children and one in eight adolescents may have depression. Suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death among adolescents’ ages 15-19 and 6th leading cause of death among children ages 5-14. Although more girls actually attempt suicide at a rate of 3:1 more boys actually die from suicide.
