Sarah Palin Denies Allowing Teen Daughter to Have Sex

Okay, it wasn't exactly a definitive denial, but she's ticked off nonetheless.

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin issued some fightin' words after her daughter's baby daddy spilled family secrets on "The Tyra Banks Show."

Last week Bristol Palin's former fiance and father to her child Tripp sat down with model turned talk show host Tyra Banks. In an episode that's scheduled to air April 6, 18-year-old Levi Johnston chatted about his sex life with the former vice presidential candidate's daughter.

According to Johnston, he and Palin's daughter practiced safe sex "most of the time" when they were together. But the real shocker came when the teen daddy revealed that Governor I-strongly-support-abstinence-only-education-programs-in schools Palin reportedly knew he and Bristol were having sex when they lived under her roof.

"I'm pretty sure she probably knew. Moms are pretty smart," Johnston told Banks on national TV.

The teens, who announced their engagement while Palin was running for Vice President of the United States, broke up a few weeks ago-roughly two months after the birth of their son Tripp. At the time, Johnston told "Good Morning America" that he needed to grow up a bit before he tied the knot.

Now, Johnston is sharing more details about his relationship with his former high-profile fiancee. Johnston's mom, Sherry, and sister Mercede, joined him on "The Tyra Banks Show" to discuss the gag order imposed on them during Palin's vice presidential campaign.

"We were supposed to say that all questions need be brought up to the McCain campaign. Other than that we had to say 'no comment,' " explained Mercede.

"No comment" was not an option for Governor Palin after learning of the Johnston's plan to rat out her family. Shortly after "The Tyra Banks Show" ran ads promoting the upcoming episode featuring Johnston the governor issued this blistering response:

"Bristol did not even know Levi was going on the show. We're disappointed that Levi and his family, in a quest for fame, attention, and fortune, are engaging in flat-out lies, gross exaggeration, and even distortion of their relationship. Bristol's focus will remain on raising Tripp, completing her education, and advocating abstinence. It is unfortunate that Levi finds it more appealing to exploit his previous relationship with Bristol than to contribute to the well being of the child. Bristol realizes now that she made a mistake in her relationship and is the one taking responsibility for their actions."

Who knows what really went on behind closed doors at Palin's home? Governor Palin did acknowledge that Johnston was living at the family's home prior to and in the weeks following Tripp's birth. I would assume that the teens were sharing a room (and probably a bed) during this time. While I can't say for sure, I would guess that Palin figured that since Bristol and Levi were engaged and already shared a child together there was no harm in allowing them to share a room together.

Palin doesn't clearly state which part of Johnston's interview contains "flat-out lies," but it's apparent that she isn't reveling in the fact that he's going public with his adventures with the Palin's.
